Long awaited and well worth the eleven year wait! this book is a treat indeed. Flashman is the bounder and cad from Tom Brown’s School Days and has been getting out of scrapes over eleven books, always the coward and always coming out of tricky and dangerous situations as the hero. They are all beautifully written with a rattling good pace and bags of adventure. This one is set in the Abyssinian War of 1868 - I had forgotten how good Fraser is.
Comparison: Boris Akunin, Tom Sharpe, Leslie Thomas.
