We're back in Cooper's Chase and I couldn't be more delighted. It's like settling into your recliner, putting on your favourite cardigan, with your most comfy slippers, and if I smoked, being accompanied by my pipe. I love these characters and have fallen for them hook line and sinker.

And they are back: Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron. The set of septuagenarians on their fourth murder mystery adventure. Despite Joyce writing in her diary on Boxing Day: "no murders next year" news reaches the Thursday Murder Club that their old friend Kuldesh has been found dead. A terracotta box he was looking after is missing. And so they plunge into the shady world of antiques fraud, drug dealers and much much more.

Osman writes with a mighty pen and seamlessly creates characters and plot that elicits all the feels: the laughs, the tears, the thrill of the chase. I defy you not to care, not to be drawn in, not to turn page after page late into the night.

With the body count rising, the package still missing and trouble firmly on their tail, has the gang's luck finally run out? And who will be the last devil to die? The series continues to evolve and yet still feel so fresh. I have loved my annual outing with The Thursday Murder Club over the last few years and am gutted I'll have a wait as Osman will not be visiting Coopers Chase this year. But I'm all in on his next adventure.
