LoveReading Says
Presented in a delightfully dinky, illustrated hardback format, The Little Prince: Wisdom from Beyond the Stars is the perfect little gift with a huge heart.
The Little Prince itself tells a story of wonder, and the magic and power of asking questions, and this collection of soul-stirring quotes captures the beautiful essence of the tale, laying bare exactly why Saint-Exupery’s classic is such a time-treasured tale for all ages.
The quotes also serve as a potent reminder of what matters in life, not least if adults can find a way to view the world through the wise eyes of children. Take this quote on “Life’s Important Things”, for example: “Grown-ups love figures. When you tell them that you have made a new friend, they never ask you any questions about essential matters. They never say to you ‘What does his voice sound like? What games does he love best? Does he collect butterflies?’”
Thematically covering childhood and growing up, love and devotion, nature and the earth, sorrow and heartache, the universe and its stars, the life of humans, and friendship and companionship, it’s a beaut of a book that’ll warm the hearts of even the grinchiest of grinches!

The Little Prince by Louise Greig and Sarah Massini
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900-1944) was born in Lyons, France. He wrote The Little Prince in the United States during a two-year self-imposed exile from occupied France. A year after the book’s publication in 1943, Saint-Exupéry disappeared over the Mediterranean while flying a reconnaissance mission for his French air squadron.
Best known throughout the world as the author and illustrator of The Little Prince, Saint-Exupéry wrote several other books that have also become classics of world literature.
Katherine Woods (1886-1968) produced the original English translation of The Little Prince in 1943. It was later followed by several other English translations, but her classic translation is treasured by fans and is often considered to be the definitive English translation. Her poetic translation perfectly captures the enchantment and charm of Saint-Exupéry’s storytelling.
