LoveReading Says
Oh how I loved this book-bundle of joy! Lucky Day made me ache with all the feelings it evoked. It’s piercing and provocative yet thoughtful and empathetic as it tickles and prods laughter to the surface. Beth Morrey has been fast developing into one of my favourite authors (she’s also rather fun to follow on social media too). Her debut Saving Missy and second novel Em & Me were both LoveReading Star Books. Her latest book joins them in this special category and as a Liz Pick of the Month. Her three novels have all been very different, yet undeniably hers. So far they have each fit within the ‘uplifting or feel-good’ genre, containing thought-provoking moments and areas of undeniable darkness, yet sparkling with her very own brand of eloquence and wit. In Lucky Day, Clover Hendry unexpectedly finds herself without a care in the world and decides to forget about work and family and take a day off from all her responsibilities. What results is an energising, stimulating, and challenging read, and it’s snort-worthy funny too. I found myself forgiving Clover for all of her transgressions, it felt as though she could almost (almost) get away with murder on her day off! This is because of the way she has been written. Yes, she hurtles through the day right on the edge, but I really loved this woman and a part of me wished I could change places with her. The very best of a feel-good read, Lucky Day is an absolute blast, forget what you should be doing and just throw yourself in!

Lucky Day Synopsis
From the Sunday Times bestselling author of SAVING MISSY, comes a fierce, joyful and uplifting novel about putting life on pause, pleasing yourself, and getting your own back. Whatever it takes.
CAN SHE SAY F*CK IT, JUST FOR ONE DAY?
After a morning that starts with a terrible migraine, an accidentally strong concoction of painkillers, and a bump on the head, Clover Hendry is not quite herself.
And as she walks out of work at 9.47am, for once Clover isn't worrying about anything. She is taking some much-deserved me-time, and everyone else had better get out of her way.
As she crashes from once incident (a deliciously illicit swim) to the next (art theft), Clover is on a one-woman mission to do exactly as she pleases – consequences are for tomorrow!
It's a day of joyful recklessness, but behind the chaos, a plan is afoot. Will her new-found freedom uncover long-buried secrets?
A euphoric, raging, galvanizing story about putting life on pause, pleasing yourself, and getting your own back – whatever it takes.

About Beth Morrey
Beth Morrey is an ex-TV producer who was behind shows you watched and loved, like The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds; shows you might not have watched but would enjoy, like 100 Year Old Drivers; and shows that you haven’t watched and maybe shouldn’t, like Sun, Sex & Suspicious Parents.
Since her early twenties, Beth has been trying to write a book. Her first attempt was a spin-off from Mary Poppins called ‘Sister Suffragette’, which was all about Winifred Banks’ adventures when she wasn’t at home singing. It’s probably for the best that it’s still in a drawer somewhere. Beth was previously shortlisted for the Grazia-Orange First Chapter award, and had her work published in the Cambridge and Oxford May Anthologies while at university. Saving Missy is her first full-length novel, written in a café in Highbury during maternity leave. It was a Sunday Times bestseller, and has sold in 16 countries.
Beth has a husband who is a radio presenter, and two sons who are very tiring. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, and stroking her dog, who would rather be elsewhere.
