Vinny Butler and his family from the East end of London are back for another, their fifth, 500-plus pages of murder, infidelity and family values. In this chapter Vinny is still bent on revenge after masked gunmen burst into his aunt Viv’s wake and murdered his grandson, his son’s wife and his wing man. The story focuses on what happens to the characters after the shooting and on Vinny reaping his revenge. Much centres on the events from previous books so the present story does not really switch into gear until a good hundred pages in, then each action still harks back to earlier events. No bad thing for this abounds in characters and violence, you need to keep your wits about you. Lots of twists and turns take you up to a thrilling conclusion which is hopefully to be continued. ~ Sarah Broadhurst
