Quite simply, the most ferocious and brutal book in the ‘Ben Hope’ series yet, and it’s a page turning stunner of a read. ‘Star of Africa’ is the first part of a new two book sequence, and I rubbed my hands with glee when it arrived on my desk. Just in case this is the first time you've met Ben Hope, he's most definitely someone you would want on your side in times of trouble, he’s a ruthless predator, capable of extreme violence, yet he has a heart. The brutal prologue sets the scene as mercenaries take an item from a wealthy family in Oman, the first few chapters see Ben setting out on a rescue mission, a mission unlike any other he will have experienced. Scott Mariani has filled ‘Star of Africa’ with non-stop action, and I gobbled this book up in one sitting, along the way I winced, flinched and cheered Ben on. The second in the sequence, ‘The Devil’s Kingdom’, really can’t come soon enough!
