An intelligent, thrilling, firecracker of a read set during presidential elections in the USA and deep-diving into the reasons behind a suicide bombing. Award-winning Abir Mukherjee is one of my go-to authors, his historical crime fiction Wyndham and Banerjee series is one of my favourites. This modern political thriller is as different as can be, but just as well-written and addictive. Sharp, fast-paced chapters are headed by three characters and open windows into the very different lives of a US agent, British father, and disillusioned former member of the US armed forces. The characters feel achingly authentic, it was easy to fall into each individual story before gasping for air and diving into the next. Not only do you sit at the centre of the action and bear witness to the viewpoint of both sides, you also travel to the edge, where family and love enter the battleground. It is absolutely fascinating to see the various factors coming together, to feel the torn emotions, to ride this multi-layered roller-coaster from beginning to end and so I’ve chosen this novel as both a LoveReading Star Book, and Liz Pick of the Month. Highly recommended, Hunted is a powerful and provocative thriller with real depth.

YOU CAN'T SAVE YOUR KIDS... BUT CAN YOU STOP THEM?
It's a week before the presidential elections when a bomb goes off in an LA shopping mall…
In London, armed police storm Heathrow Airport and arrest Sajid Khan. His daughter Aliyah entered the USA with the suicide bomber, and now she's missing, potentially plotting another attack.
But then a mysterious woman called Carrie turns up at Sajid's door after travelling halfway across the world. She claims Aliyah is with her son Greg, and she knows where they could be.
Back in the US, Agent Shreya Mistry is closing in on the two fugitives. But the more she investigates, the more she realises this case is far from as simple as it seems.
Hunted by the authorities, the two parents are thrown together in a race against time to find their kids before the FBI does and stop a catastrophe that will bring the world to its knees.
