LoveReading Says
“One venue, three species, five centuries of conflict, and zero good faith” you are invited to the arranged marriage between Lowe (a Were Alpha) and a Misery (Vampyre and experienced Collateral). The first since The Aster, where the last arranged marriage ended with a biblical level of bloodshed. It’s enemies-to-lovers perfection and I am here for it.
I’m already a fan of Ali Hazelwod, she is a maestro of Romance, conducting narratives that sink their teeth into you and drag you in without remorse. And with this romantasy shift away from her beloved STEM and “geeky” storylines, I do kind of mean that literally. I loved Misery, her heart and begrudging relationships with Sparkles aka Serena’s F*ing Cat and developing fondness for Ana. I kicked my feet with glee at her snooping through the bedroom of someone with a highly sensitive sense of smell (what I wouldn’t give for a Lowe’s POV after that). And I howled at characters that seem about as inept around children as I am. Bride is a torturously slow burn that sunk its claws into me and had me keeping a Vampyre schedule, reading well into the small hours. That’s what I love about romances, although you may know the destination it’s a delight to see the different journeys you can take along the way, and Bride has tension and twists in abundance. With the door left slightly ajar for other character’s stories maybe? If so, I’d be thrilled.

Bride Synopsis
A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into in this new paranormal romance from the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.
Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast - again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold an historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange - again . . .
Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It's clear from the way he tracks Misery's every movement that he doesn't trust her. If only he knew how right he was . . .
Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she's ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what's hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory . . . alone with the wolf.

About Ali Hazelwood
Ali Hazelwood is the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis, Love on the Brain and Love Theoretically as well as a writer of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the US to pursue a PhD in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).
