"A really bittersweet tale of love, friendship, faith and art."
Available in Kindle from Amazon.
Ben and Harriet are inseparable and have been best friends since they were young. Their plans for the future include studying and living near each other, but Harriet hasn't shared that she has feelings for Ben, and Ben has decided that he wants to become a monk. When Ben reveals his plans to leave Oxford for a monastery in the Hebrides, their plans together are thrown off course. Their futures and relationship is on a knife-edge, and what was once a comfortable and predictable future is now filled with uncertainty.
All the Truths Between Us by Liz Amos is such a bittersweet story. I loved the connection between Ben and Harriet, got frustrated when they weren’t communicating clearly and dearly wished for a happy resolution. As a new adult fiction there are plenty of coming-of-age themes throughout, both Ben and Harriet are figuring out who they are and who they want to be, the possibilities enticing but the risks and fears loom large. This is a book about acceptance as much as it is about love and friendship, acceptance of the past and of the uncertainty of the future. All the Truths Between Us is an emotive story, with Ben and Harriet at the centre of it all with a story about finding the right path.
