The Birds and the Bees Synopsis
Romance writer Stevie was devastated when, pregnant with her first child, her husband ran off with another woman. Four years on, she has pulled her life back together. She has a lively son, Danny, and, in a few weeks' time, she will marry new love Matthew. The betrayals of the past seem behind her.
But one night, Stevie receives a visit from Adam McLean - the husband of her friend , Jo. Adam claims Jo and Matthew are having an affair. At first Stevie rejects Adam's offer to team-up, but when, a week later, she finds herself dumped and left to find a place to live and cancel a wedding, Stevie decides that desperate times call for desperate measures.
Adam's plan is to make their former partners jealous by pretending to be a couple. While Stevie sees the logic in this, the situation is complicated by the fact that, thanks to Jo's malicious lies, she and Adam each hold a deep-seated prejudice against the other.
Will they manage to overcome their misconceptions? And, if they do, will they want their cheating partners back?
