"A comprehensive guide to meditation for all skill levels."
Llewellyn's Complete Book of Meditation by Shai Tubali is a detailed and well-structured guide to meditation. Beginning with the basics, introduction of the chakras and fundamentals, through to tips to improve your meditation practice and instruction for different meditative techniques from the root chakra to the crown chakra.
This book is really well-researched, explaining the origins of each technique as well as different ways to adapt them to suit you. I liked that the book included techniques that could apply to any part of a person's life, from both seated and laid down mediations to walking and even ways to re-center while sending emails or being occupied with other tasks. I feel this really helps to demonstrate how anyone could include meditation in their life, and shows how adaptable it can be. I enjoyed learning about the history and origins behind each technique, and I liked that the history was included to give the reader a comprehensive understanding of meditation before diving into the instruction.
It says that this book is suitable for all skill levels and I would agree. The book is clear and concise enough for a beginner to learn and follow, whereas it also provides a variety of different techniques that helps intermediate skill levels progress. There are a few mentions of more advanced techniques not being included however for the very advanced this can provide an opportunity to refresh the fundamentals. This is a comprehensive exploration of meditation that is really accessible and will provide years of support and information for those looking to begin meditation.
