Action-packed and vibrantly vivid, hang on tight as it’s a bit of wild ride! A serial killer haunts the streets of Manchester, children are disappearing in purgatory, and one of the dead has horrendous plans for the living in Japan. This is the second in the Dying Squad Series and it travels further and deeper into the unknown. I do feel that you need to have read The Dying Squad first as it really is the most perfect introduction. I suggest that you suspend everything you know, just dive in and believe (it’s actually rather easy, perhaps too easy!). Author Adam Simcox paints a moving picture with his pen, all my senses were fully engaged and on high alert. With three main characters and three cohabitating strands, the plot in The Generation Killer is intense and dramatic from the get-go, with tendrils from each reaching out to snag and support the others. I thought I already knew this world, but new hits of information made my eyes open wider. The policing element works beautifully, we get to more about our characters, and Japan has the most dynamic energy. I have been left wanting more! The Generation Killer cements this supernatural crime series as one to watch and I’ve chosen it to feature as a Liz Pick of the Month.
