A beautifully tense dystopian read where deception and intrigue lurk at every corner. The author builds her story slowly but surely, settling you in to this very different world of an underwater city and allowing you to understand the processes and mechanisms that keep it alive. The city of Atlantia, protecting its inhabitants, actually feels as though it is one of the central characters. Then there’s the valiant, determined Rio, on finding herself alone she is drawn to her aunt, but will Maire help or hinder her? There is more at stake here than personal feelings and as Atlantia starts to reveal its troubles, an unsettling fog of foreboding begins to prevail. Enjoyably unsettling yet engaging reading, this original story is well worth a read.
