A favourite of ours, and our Reader Review Panel is A Treacherous Likeness by Lynn Shepherd who wrote the critically acclaimed, incredibly well researched, Victorian murder mystery Tom-All-Alone’s. Also the third in Stuart Clark's Sky's Dark Labyrinth Trilogy,The Day without Yesterday, where he uses historical fiction to explain the cosmos.

  For all of you in reading groups and needing guidance to select your next group read, look no further than our reading group category. Fairy tales for the 21^st Century

  A surprise hit last year was the witty, original and dark reworking of the ‘fairy story’ from Catherynne M. Valente called The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. Well the girl in question, September, is back for a second adventure The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There. Read the book before you see the film

Books really are better than the films, so why not read the ones in the shelf below before going to the movies. Also, you can enter a competition on Facebook to win one of 100 free eBooks of Warm Bodies – but be quick, the competition closes at the end of January.

T. S. Eliot Prize for Poetry 2012

Finally, news for Poetry lovers as the T. S. Eliot Prize for Poetry 2012 has recently been announced. It went to Stag's Leap by Sharon Olds.
