Thomas Risse is professor of International Relations at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. He is the co-director of the Research College 'The Transformative Power of Europe' and has been coordinator of the Research Center 'Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood', both funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). His publications include Domestic Politics and Norm Diffusion in International Relations (Routledge, 2016), A Community of Europeans? Börzel is professor of Political Science and European Integration at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, and is the director of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence 'Europe and its Citizens'.
