I have worked in health and social care for over forty years. I completed a general nurse training in the 1980s and have experience of working with older people and their families from both a health and social care perspective. I have always found working with older people rewarding and promote the view that ageing can be a positive experience. My experience, and the experiences of my siblings, in caring for our mother has been the impetus for writing this book and has influenced its content.
