Rombert Stapel is senior researcher at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 2021 he published a study titled Medieval Authorship and Cultural Exchange in the Late Fifteenth Century: The Utrecht Chronicle of the Teutonic Order with Routledge. His work encompasses the historiography of the military orders, socioeconomic history and population geography of the medieval and early-modern Low Countries, and digital humanities – with a special focus on geohumanities and the application of historical GIS. Christel Saridjo is self-trained as a translator of Middle Dutch. She is married to Rombert Stapel.
