Dr. R. David Nelson earned his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at King's College, University of Aberdeen. His doctoral dissertation, supervised by Prof. John B. Webster, is a groundbreaking analysis of the sacramental theology of Eberhard Jüngel. A revised edition of this work is being prepared for publication under the title The Interruptive Word: Eberhard Jüngel on the Structure of God's Sacramental Relation to the World. While researching for this volume, he spent one year as a Doctoral Fellow at the Institute for Ecumenical Research in Strasbourg, France, where he participated in several Lutheran international ecumenical efforts. Nelson has taught undergraduate courses in biblical studies and systematic theology at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, and Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
