Patricia Kennedy is a writer and researcher. She was a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the School of Applied Social Science, University College Dublin, Ireland, from 1995 until 2014. She has written extensively on motherhood and maternity policies in Ireland. Her areas of interest include: conceptual and theoretical approaches to social policy; health policy; consumers’ involvement in maternity policy; sexual and reproductive health; migration; comparative social policy; and evidence-based policy.
