Nicholas Sharpe is a retired firefighter and ex Royal Marine Commando who has spent two years visiting, researching and photographing these sites as a keen amateur historian. Residing in the Cotswolds Nick is married to Julie, has three daughters and has been accompanied on his travels by pet Poodles, Myrtle and Margot. After a terminal blood cancer diagnosis in 2018, subsequent treatment that has proved successful, Nick has been spurred on to create a legacy and pass on his passion of visiting hillforts to others.
