Dr Maite Conde is University Lecturer in Brazilian Culture at the University of Cambridge, and Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge. She is the author of Consuming Vision. Cinema, Writing and Modernity in Rio de Janeiro (2012), and of Foundational Films. Early Cinema and Modernity in Brazil (2018). Maite has written numerous essays on Brazilian cinema, literature and politics for peer reviewed journals and books. Professor Stephanie Dennison is Chair of Brazilian Studies at the University of Leeds. She is a founding member of the Centre for World Cinemas at Leeds and is author of a number of texts on Brazilian and World Cinema. Her forthcoming book Remapping Brazilian Film Culture in the 21st Century will be published by Routledge.
