M. R. Dileep is a noted tourism academician, author, and columnist. Having been engaged in tourism academics for more than 20 years, he is currently the Director of the Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS-Dept. of Tourism, Govt. of Kerala, India). Before that, he worked as the vice-principal and associate professor of travel and tourism management with Pazhassi raja college of the University of Calicut (Kerala, India). In addition, for seven years, he worked with the Ministry of Higher Education (CAS Salalah), Sultanate of Oman, as faculty, major head, and system-wide coordinator of tourism subjects. Moreover, he worked as the head of the Department of Tourism at KITTS earlier on government deputation for seven years.
