Dr. Kadir Caliskan is graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1994 at the University of Amsterdam. In 1999, he started his training in Cardiology. Since 2005, he works as heart failure / transplant / VAD cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology, Unit Heart Failure, Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support.  In 2012, he completed his PhD thesis, "Clinical Features of Noncompaction Cardiomyopathy". Since 2012, he is member of Dutch Thoracic Organ Transplant Advisory Board. In the same year, he joined the Dutch Mechanical Circulatory Support Working Group. In 2013, he was appointed as head of the Unit Heart Failure, Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support. In 2014, he was appointed as the Dutch representative in to EThAC, the Eurotransplant Thoracic Advisory Committee. In 2015, he entered the Board of EUROMACS, the European Registry of Mechanical Circulatory.
