James Francis Hadland was born just prior to World War II in Birmingham, England. He was educated at King Edwards School, obtaining O & A Levels and later BSc & MSc in engineering. After many years as an engineer and then a lecturer, depression crept insidiously into his life and full-time work became exceptionally difficult. Fortuitously there was an offer of early retirement and although his children were still at school, he accepted this and found some part-time employment. Producing this book helped him enormously and he believes it has been of use to other sufferers. Recovery took time but eventually was complete. James has also authored The Answers to Every Problem. Yes, Every Last One.
