S. Rowe is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Northern Colorado. He is the author of Thomas McKean and the Shaping of an American Republicanism and Embattled Bench: The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Forging of a Democratic Society, 1684-1809.
