Hiroshi Yamazaki has been Professor of the Laboratory of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics at Showa Pharmaceutical University, Tokyo, Japan since 2005. After receiving his BS and MS degrees from Gifu Pharmaceutical University and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Osaka University in Japan, he trained as a post-doctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, TN, USA in 1994. He was recruited as an Associate Professor at Kanazawa University from Osaka Prefectural Institute of Public Health in 1998 and then an Associate Professor at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2001. Professor Yamazaki’s research has focused on cytochromes P450, flavin-containing monooxygenases, and simple pharmacokinetic modeling. His P450 papers cover a broad range of topics.
