Dr. Hiroshi Yokota is a Professor at Division of Engineering and Policy for Sustainable Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1993. Before he joined Hokkaido University, he worked for Ministry of Transport and Port and Airport Research Institute, Japan for 29 years. His research interests include life cycle management of infrastructure and sustainability design of concrete structures. As parts of the life cycle management, performance evaluation, deterioration prediction, effectiveness of repair are main considerations for research. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and over 200 papers at international conferences and symposia. He is currently President of Asian Concrete Federation, Executive Council Member of JCI, and Convener of ISO/TC71/WG1 (Life cycle management of concrete structures). Dr. Dan Frangopol is the inaugural holder of the Fazlur R. Khan Endowed Chair of Structural Engineering
