Haiying Qi is currently a professor of Tsinghua University, Prof. Qi graduated from Tsinghua University in 1982, and then completed his PhD degree in Germany. He is now the chairman of the 7th International Symposium on Coal Combustion. He also serves as senior members in several academic organizations, such as the combustion and multiphase flow branch of the Chinese Engineering Thermophysics Society, the multiphase flow branch of the Chinese Mechanics Society, and the industrial furnace branch of the Chinese Mechanics Engineering Society.

   Prof. Qi has published some writings: Euler-Euler Simulation of the Flow Dynamics in Circulating Fluidized Bed (in Germany, ISBN 3-89653-224-3, 1997); Principles of Boiler (core teaching material, 2002), Chinese Handbook on Electrical Engineering (in Chinese, 2007) etc.   He has published about 200 papers and is the holder of 4 patents.
