Francis J. Turner [deceased] was Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. He practiced in the fields of child welfare, family counseling, and mental health, and published a range of written and edited texts. He served as editor of the International Social Work Journal. Cynthia Franklin is the Stiernberg/Spencer Family Professor in Mental Health in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas in Austin. Franklin also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the Dell Medical School and faculty fellowships at the Humanities Institute and the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk in the Department of Special Education. She was named one of the 100 most Influential contemporary social work faculty for the overall impact of her more than 200 publications.
