Francesc Cunillera performed his Ph.D. research at the University of Nottingham, UK. There he addressed the challenge of finding a complete description of our Universe in terms of fundamental physics by exploring the implications that string theory would have for the behaviour of our Universe at present times.   After finishing his Ph.D., he continued research in fundamental physics questions for a year. After that, he moved on from academia to work in the private sector. He is currently a Machine Learning engineer, using deep learning techniques for time-series forecasting.
