DOUGLAS POORE has long been a railroad "nut." Growing up with a major railroad hub in his backyard, the railroad bug bit him at a young age. From watching the trains to enjoying model railroading, Doug was fully hooked on railroads for life. Upon retiring from a career in prehospital medicine, Doug took on the role of curator for the Greater Harrington Historical Society. This new venture allowed him to reignite his railroad passion. The town had literally grown up around the railroad and now Doug could read the stories and view the photos of this history. He has taken these stories and photos and spun them into books on the railroad's history.
