He has 18 years of experience in research (land evaluation, fluvial geomorphology, human impact), and was an associate professor and deputy director at University of Pécs (1997-2009). He is currently director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences. He has written 5 books, edited 10 books, and wrote close to 150 academic publications.

Miloš Stankoviansky has a university degree in geography, and worked for the Institute of Geography of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava for about 30 years. He has worked for the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology, Comenius University in Bratislava, since 2001, and has been head of the University since 2003.
