Anita Prazmowska is Professor in International History at the London School of Economics, where she has taught since 1992. Her research interests lie in the Cold War; communism; contemporary history; Eastern Europe; fascism; and Poland. Recent publications include Civil War in Poland (2004); A History of Poland (2004); Eastern Europe and the Origins of the Second World War (2000); Britain and Poland 1939-1943. The Betrayed Ally (1995); Britain, Poland and the Eastern Front, 1939 (1987). Professor Alan Sharp is Provost of the Coleraine Campus at the University of Ulster. He joined the History Department at Ulster in 1971 and has been successively Professor of International Studies, a post in which he helped to set up degrees in International Studies and, later, International Politics and Head of the School of History and International Affairs. His major publications include The Versailles Settlement: Peacemaking in Paris, 1919 (1991) amongst others.
