Dr Andrew Simmons is an environmental activist from St Vincent and the Grenadines, possessing over 40 years of experience working at community through to international levels with governments, NGOs and international development organisations such as the UNDP and the Norwegian Refugee Service. As Deputy and Acting Director of the Youth Affairs Division at the Commonwealth Secretariat, he was responsible for defining the strategic direction of the Organisation in 53 countries. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Development, specialising in youth development and climate change, and its outcomes were published by Springer Nature in 2021. Dr Simmons received numerous global recognitions and awards for his achievements in the field, including the UN Global 500 Award (1989), the Goldman Environmental Prize (1994) and special recognition from the UN for his work in building the resilience of communities to deal with climate change (2015).  Andree-Ann Simmons has akeen interest in strategy and science within global healthc
