Dr Amos Madhlopa joined the Energy Research Centre in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa as a Senior Research Officer in January 2013. He has previous teaching and research experience from the University of Strathclyde, UK (2010-2011) and University of Malawi, Malawi (1991-2010, 2012). He has developed and taught several energy-related courses, and supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students. His primary research focus area has been sustainable energy engineering, with great emphasis on renewable energy technologies. He has experience in the development of hybrid solar-fuel gas turbines. Dr Madhlopa has more than 20 referred publications, including a book chapter on solar gas turbine systems.
