Allis Childe is a survivor turned practitioner. She studied medical sciences and psychological therapies to better understand stress and trauma. As a scientist, Allis learned how emotions have physiological consequences. As a counsellor, she saw the physical effects of emotional pain. As a survivor, Allis knew that trauma changed people but she didn't understand why. As a trauma-informed practitioner, she wrote the book she always wanted to explain these things.
