Exemplary Jews and Christians who became Sahabah
The Sahabah are the Muslim companions of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. A Sahabi is a singular male companion and a Sahabiyyat is a singular female companion. The Sahabah is the plural form of the word and includes both male and female companions. To be considered from among the Sahabah then someone had to be Muslim believing in the prophethood of Muhammad and meet Muhammad in person as a Muslim and lastly die as a Muslim. Many Jews and Christians set a wonderful example by recognizing the truth of Muhammad's prophetic religion and embraced Islam and met Muhammad in the flesh. This category of people are known as Ahl-Kitab Sahabah because they had previously believed in the previous Islamic prophets such as Moses and Jesus as well as books of divine revelation prior to meeting Muhammad and confirming his message as the God-given truth. These were the contemporary disciples of Muhammad who were Jews and Christians who met him and became Muslims.

The Righteous and People of Conscience of the Armenian Genocide
This book tells the stories of the Muslims, Christians, Jews and others who made a courageous stand against the mass slaughter of Ottoman Armenians in 1915, the first modern genocide. Foreigners and Ottomans alike ran considerable risks to bear witness and rescue victims, sometimes sacrificing their lives. Diplomats, humanitarians, missionaries, lawyers and other visitors to the Empire stood up, including Tolstoy's daughter, Alexandra; Raphael Lemkin, the jurist who first established genocide as an international crime; and the polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen, who recognized and relieved the plight of stateless Armenian refugees. Ottoman subjects-from officials and officers to ordinary townspeople and villagers-faced near-certain death for their entire family by resisting orders and helping Armenians. Unlike the Righteous of the Holocaust, these heroes have been systematically ignored and erased-a major injustice. Based on fresh research and hoping to repay a moral debt to Ottoman Muslims who braved everything to rescue the authors' forebears, this book is an important, moving testament to a grievously overlooked aspect of the Armenian tragedy.

A Rosetta Key for History: The Generational Pattern of Time
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice. This work explores the use of a time chart based on generations as a way to understand history. A sole reliance on yearly dating tends to obscure the historical reality and deter us from further exploration. However, patterns are revealed if we number generations, and we become intrigued by the connections and hypotheses raised. The author uses 15-year intervals to date events and mark when people turn 30 and tend to enter history. The 15-year generational interval was first used by the medieval historian, Bede, and later advocated by Ortega E Gasset, a leading Spanish philosopher of the 20th century. In brief, the phases of history found are: 1) A partly invisible beginning phase; 0-15 generations; 2) An establishment phase at 15/20 generations; 3) A consolidating and opening up stage at 30 generations; 4) A crisis and creativity phase at 40 generations; 5) An empire and inclusionary phase at 50 generations; and 6) Renewal or rigidification phase at the 60 generational node. Importantly, special attention is given to the often neglected 30th generational period, in which an openess to beauty and light prevade. Interestingly, these phases also resonate with the human life cycle. The tour of cultures covered includes ancient Egypt, Israel-Judah, Rome, and the Medieval-Modern. Taking us into contemporary times, America/United States is addressed in a second volume to this work. You are invited to go on an intriguing journey in which generational patterning becomes a Rosetta key for understanding history.

The Ottomans and Christians: The History and Legacy of the Ottomans’ Conflicts with Catholic and Ort
In terms of geopolitics, perhaps the most seminal event of the Middle Ages was the successful Ottoman siege of Constantinople in 1453. The city had been an imperial capital as far back as the 4th century, when Constantine the Great shifted the power center of the Roman Empire there, effectively establishing two almost equally powerful halves of antiquity’s greatest empire. Constantinople would continue to serve as the capital of the Byzantine Empire even after the Western half of the Roman Empire collapsed in the late 5th century. Naturally, the Ottoman Empire would also use Constantinople as the capital of its empire after their conquest effectively ended the Byzantine Empire, and thanks to its strategic location, it has been a trading center for years and remains one today under the Turkish name of Istanbul. The end of the Byzantine Empire had a profound effect not only on the Middle East but Europe as well. Constantinople had played a crucial part in the Crusades, and the fall of the Byzantines meant that the Ottomans now shared a border with Europe. In the wake of taking Constantinople, the Ottoman Empire would spend the next few centuries expanding its size, power, and influence, bumping up against Eastern Europe and becoming one of the world’s most important geopolitical players. It was a rise that would not truly start to wane until the 19th century. Naturally, the Islamic empire was viewed as a threat by the predominantly Christian continent to their west, and it took little time for different European nations to start clashing with the powerful Turks. In fact, the Ottomans would clash with Russians, Austrians, Venetians, Polish, and more before collapsing as a result of World War I, when they were part of the Central Powers.

Servants of Allah: African Muslims Enslaved in the Americas
Servants of Allah presents a history of African Muslims, following them from West Africa to the Americas. Although many assume that what Muslim faith they brought with them to the Americas was quickly absorbed into the new Christian milieu, as Sylviane A. Diouf demonstrates in this meticulously researched, groundbreaking volume, Islam flourished during slavery on a large scale. She details how, even while enslaved, many Muslims managed to follow most of the precepts of their religion. Literate, urban, and well-traveled, they drew on their organization, solidarity and the strength of their beliefs to play a major part in the most well-known slave uprisings. But for all their accomplishments and contributions to the history and cultures of the African Diaspora, the Muslims have been largely ignored. Servants of Allah-a Choice 1999 Outstanding Academic Title-illuminates the role of Islam in the lives of both individual practitioners and communities and shows that though the religion did not survive in the Americas in its orthodox form, its mark can be found in certain religions, traditions, and artistic creations of people of African descent. This fifteenth anniversary edition has been updated to include new materials and analysis, a review of developments in the field, and prospects for new research.

The Ottoman Empire’s Greatest Sultans: The Lives and Legacies of Osman I, Mehmed II, and Suleiman th
The Ottoman conquest of Constantinople also played a decisive role in fostering the Renaissance in Western Europe. The Byzantine Empire’s influence had helped ensure that it was the custodian of various ancient texts, most notably from the ancient Greeks, and when Constantinople fell, Byzantine refugees flocked west to seek refuge in Europe. Those refugees brought books that helped spark an interest in antiquity that fueled the Italian Renaissance and essentially put an end to the Middle Ages altogether. In the wake of taking Constantinople, the Ottoman Empire would spend the next few centuries expanding its size, power, and influence, bumping up against Eastern Europe and becoming one of the world’s most important geopolitical players. It was a rise that would not truly start to wane until the 19th century, and the Ottomans would maintain their empire until the end of World War I.

The Persian Empire literally: Iran refers to any of a series of imperial dynasties that were centered in the region of Persia (Iran) from the 6th century BC. C., during the reign of Cyrus the Great of the Achaemenid Empire, until the 20th century AD. C. with the Pahlavi dynasty. In 1979, after the Iranian revolution, the Iranian monarchy was replaced by the Islamic Republic. The first dynasty of the Persian Empire was created by the Achaemenids, established by Cyrus II the Great in 550 BC. C. with the conquest of the Median, Lydian and Babylonian empires. It covered much of the ancient world until it was conquered by the Macedonians, led by Alexander the Great. Persepolis is the most famous historical site associated with the Persian Empire in the Achaemenid era and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. The Persian Empire in the Sassanian era was interrupted by the Muslim conquest of Persia in 651, establishing the Islamic caliphate in the region, and later by the Mongol invasion. The main religion of ancient Persia was Zoroastrianism, but after the 7th century it was slowly replaced by Islam, which reached a majority in the 10th century.
