Union with the Resurrected Christ: Eschatological New Creation and New Testament Biblical Theology
Southwestern Journal of Theology 2023 Book Award (Biblical Studies) Union with Christ is an important theological and practical concept that has received considerable attention in recent years. But not much consideration has been given to this union and its benefits in light of Jesus's resurrection and ascension. In this follow-up to his monumental A New Testament Biblical Theology, G. K. Beale summarizes and expands on that work with an eye to fleshing out the theological implications of the resurrection and ascension. Beale explains that Christ's resurrection and ascension place him as the beginning of the eschatological fulfillment of the new creational kingdom. Specifically, Christ is the fulfillment of a cluster of nineteen Old Testament end-time expectations. These eschatological realities attributed to Christ are imprinted on believers through their dynamic union and identification with him. Through careful exegesis, Beale explores these facets and deliberately draws out important practical applications for everyday Christian living in the overlap of the old creation and the new. Students of the New Testament will benefit from this important contribution to New Testament theology.

Leadership Is Worthless...But Leading Is Priceless: What I Learned from 9/11, the NFL, and Ukraine
Practical leadership for difficult times, from a crisis management expert who has led response teams through the 9/11 Pentagon attack, NFL on-field medical emergencies, and the war in Ukraine. Dr. Thom Mayer knows first-hand that true leadership stems from our actions, not our positions, especially in times of crisis. Drawing on his experiences heading the 9/11 Pentagon rescue efforts, dealing with on-field emergencies in the NFL (he was at Damar Hamlin's bedside after his injury), training mobile response medical teams in Ukraine, and more, Mayer covers such topics as why trust is vital for innovation; the critical role of failure in devising new ways of leading; how questions fuel innovative action; why every leader should have the title Chief Story Teller; and the importance of distinguishing between data, knowledge, and wisdom. Each chapter begins with a provocative and seemingly contradictory statement, like the book's title, and includes stories, historical examples, and literary lessons selected to guide pragmatic and practical solutions.

What Is Covenant Theology?: Tracing God’s Promises through the Son, the Seed, and the Sacraments
Understanding the Basics and Blessings of Covenant Theology From animal sacrifice in the Old Testament to baptism and Communion in the New Testament, the Bible can seem like it contains vastly different instructions for how God's people are to worship him through visible means. But Scripture is a complete story of redemption, one that is breathtaking in its unity. By observing how all biblical events connect through God's covenants with his people, believers can better grasp the beauty of the triune God and the breathtaking unity of Scripture, knowing the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit. In this practical introduction, professor Ryan McGraw gives listeners a framework for understanding the structure of the Bible. Explaining the blessing of covenant theology, he reveals how the sacraments illustrate God's relationship with his people throughout the ages and help unify all parts of Scripture, from God's promises in Genesis to their fulfillment in Revelation. Exploring the covenants of redemption, works, and grace, this audiobook will give readers clarity about the gospel, and teach them how to live in fellowship with the triune God and others.

Life in the Son: A Study of the Doctrine of Perseverance
A deep study on the doctrine of eternal security Does one moment of faith secure a person's eternal destiny with God-even if that person later stops following and trusting in Jesus? Or does a person have to keep on trusting and following Jesus to remain in a saving relationship with God? Now expanded with new chapters and research, this landmark book continues to offer one of the most penetrating studies on the controversial doctrine of eternal security, perseverance, and apostasy in the New Testament. Calling into question the popular 'once saved, always saved' belief, internationally respected pastor and scholar Dr. Robert Shank reveals that the question we should be asking is not, 'Is the believer secure?' but rather, 'What does it mean to be a believer?' Straightforward, thorough, and grounded in biblical understanding, this book warns Christians about dangers that could potentially lead a believer to become an unbeliever (falling away from faith) and share in the unbeliever's eternal condemnation.

Phil Newton and Rich Shadden know what this road is like, and they want to share what they have gained from pastoral mentoring-Rich, a young pastor receiving support and guidance from Phil, an older, more experienced shepherd. Wealth and Climate Competitiveness: The New Narrative on Business and Society
Many of the central concerns of the twenty-first century-racial inequity, white supremacy movements, greater inclusiveness of diverse peoples-are rooted in facing and overcoming prejudices, both common and hidden. Another great challenge-the role of wealth and innovation in solving the climate crisis-is also riddled with disabling prejudices about how corporations work, and about the rights and needs of consumers and world citizens. In his twenty-first book, Wealth and Climate Competitiveness: The New Narrative on Business and Society, Bruce Piasecki argues that a set of five recurring prejudices, from 1900 to 2020, have held up real progress on climate action. Using the examples of select firms like Trane Technologies, and oil giants like the transforming bp, Piasecki sets out to define climate competitiveness as a path to solutions that decarbonize, decentralize, and digitize our near future. Climate competitiveness involves a responsible, steady, resolve-based focus on lessons derived from human behavior and social movements. By using Robin Hood as a narrative example, this book is designed to give you a deep understanding of the changed landscape we now face, and how you can resolve to embrace climate competitiveness to drive your personal success, and the corporate and institutional success of our world.
