The Experiencer: God, science and you - unified. An idealistic Theory of Everything and a tale about
The author firmly believes that the philosophical standpoint of idealism provides the correct understanding of the world. Nothing material exists; all are conceptions in a single, universal consciousness. Is it possible? Is it likely? This book shows that it is, in fact, the most likely explanation of all. In a mental world, it is easy to connect the natural sciences with humanistic fields such as psychology, language, music, sociology, ethics, religion – and everything else. Common laws govern them all. Poetry and weather can be explained by the fundamental mechanisms of emergence and complexity dynamics. Economy, trees, gossip, elementary particles and cosmological events all follow the same laws in their development. What, then, is a human being? What are life and death? What is time? You get specific answers. The author says that he has ”known” things all his life, but it took many years before the knowledge entirely broke through. The first part of the book is about this awakening. You get to know precisely how it happened and what is required for it to occur. The book’s second part presents a complete theory of the world. It is idealistic (Plato, Descartes), i.e. based on the fact that thought and consciousness are fundamental, while all the material things we see around us are mental conceptions which are also experienced as qualia; something tangible, felt, material, physical. This is a book like no other, and it not only sets the mind spinning but presents what may well be an accurate description of the universe in which we live. At the same time, it goes deep into being human; what it is in essence, and also why we experience life’s pain, fear, longing, etc. – and how we can live more in harmony with our authentic self, which is something quite different from what most people think.

It is woven into the fabric of modern evangelicalism. The subject of numerous books, conferences, and sermons every year, it’s promoted as essential for a vibrant relationship with Christ, and a measure of the maturity of your faith. What is it? Hearing God speak personally, outside of Scripture. But is God trying to speak to you through signs, impressions, and subtle promptings? Is He whispering to you in a still, small voice, hoping to grab your attention? Does Scripture promise that every Christian will receive personal, private revelations from the Lord?In God Doesn’t Whisper, Pastor Jim Osman examines the assumptions, practices, and proof texts of those who promote a theology of hearing the voice of God. Dig into the texts often cited in defense of trying to hear God speak outside of His written Word. Scripture is clear: God doesn’t whisper.

Beasts Of Britain is a book by Andy McGrath, a Cryptozoology 'enthusiast' who has spent over 25 years of researching and obsessing about the unknown creatures living right under our noses here on this tiny island in the North Atlantic. From a wildlife point of view, the accepted fauna of The British Isles were discovered and catalogued in their finite and immovable state in the 19th century. Nothing has really been added to this list or considered worthy since and the continual reports of Water Monsters, Bigfoot, Mystery Big Cats and U.F.C's (Unidentified Flying Cryptids) are largely ignored or used as newspaper fillers to entertain us. Andy's focus is on current research and sightings, pictures, videos and eyewitness accounts of the many cryptids of the British Isles. Although vast advancements in science and technology have brought great discoveries in other lesser known parts of the world, our island lies largely underexplored and overlooked. At night, outside of the busy cities and next to the unlit lakes and lonely mountains it is an island in darkness, where nobody ventures into the woods anymore and the pervading paradigm scare all but the most foolhardy scientists away from any serious investigation of the many yet to be discovered - Beasts Of Britain.

MRF Shadow Troop: The untold true story of top secret British military intelligence undercover opera
Some thought it stood for 'Military Reconnaissance Force', others 'Mobile Reconnaissance Force'. Many people thought it didn't exist at all . . . For decades there has been argument in the media and amongst politicians about the possible existence and extent of a shoot-to-kill policy in Northern Ireland. MRF Shadow Troop confirms there was such an agenda in the early, chaotic days of British military intervention across the Irish Sea. But amongst the mountain of speculation there is little of any accuracy or authority relating to this period. The speculation about the unit's name and mission only added to the uncertainty amongst their targets: members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, the IRA, the provos. Simon Cursey was recruited into the Military Reaction Force-the unit's true name-in 1972. This book is his personal account of his time with the group and in it he reveals the truth about their operations-the briefings, missions, political wrangling, and government-sanctioned law-bending. MRF Shadow Troop is a fascinating, exciting but above all accurate historical text about the pioneers of counter-terrorism.

International Relations: A Very Short Introduction
International relations affects everyone's lives: their security, economic well-being, rights and freedoms, and the environment they share. Recently we have seen the transformation from a world of empires to today's world of sovereign states, which are enmeshed in a complex array of international institutions, all exercising degrees of political authority. The new global organization of political authority has far-reaching consequences. This Very Short Introduction untangles this complex world, providing an accessible framework for understanding the contours of global political change. Christian Reus-Smit treats theory as an indispensable tool for grasping international relations, but demystifies theorizing, introducing it as an everyday human practice. He surveys a range of theories, from realism to feminism: reading them as contrasting perspectives on the global organization of political authority. Historically, such organization has been shaped by diverse social forces, four of which are discussed in detail: shifting patterns of warfare, changing economic conditions, struggles for rights, and the politics of culture. Reus-Smit concludes with a reflection on the future of international relations in an era of profound global change.
