The purpose of a teacher is to encourage and to stimulate, sometimes even to belabor one to become curious to detect the principle in operation. Our principle is that imagining creates reality. We make the claim that “the eternal body of Man is the Imagination and that is God himself, the divine body Jesus…we are his members” (Blake, Laocoon). Buried in everyone is Christ Jesus, and Christ Jesus is God himself. Here, we must awaken from this state, and awakening from this state is called in scripture, the resurrection.
I hope you will listen carefully and apply it. It will not fail you. Every natural effect in this world has an imaginal cause; the natural effect is only seeming, it’s an illusion. I don’t care what the effect is…the most normal natural thing in this world…and the reason why we do not recognize that it is produced by some imaginal, or you could use the word spiritual, cause is because that our memory is so fading, is so short. We can’t relate the thing that is taking place physically to anything we did in some imaginal moment.
In this country of ours every man has the opportunity to make more of himself than he does in his own environment, with his own skill, with his own energy, and with his own friends.
We pray either to an Infinite Mind or an Omnipotent Power. Prayer is always some form of communion with the Universal. It reaches its highest possibility when it rises above the limitations of any existing circumstance.
Did you ever stop to think that the human mind is the only thing you know of that can comprehend the meaning of life? This means that somewhere back in your mind there is a place where you merge with and are one with the Mind of God. There is a place in everyone's life where the original Thinker, This Thing Called Life, enters and can, if we will permit it to, guide our thoughts and actions to the solution of all our problems. To find this place, to discover this power, and to understand, even in the simplest way, how to consciously unify your mind with it, would be the greatest thing that could happen to you, or to anyone else.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could learn to stop worrying? You and I know how futile it is to fuss and fret and nine times out of ten when we ask ourselves why are we so worked up? We can’t put our finger on any definite reason or incident in our lives that started what we call a worry pattern of thought. Why, then do we worry?
Friends, last week we talked about how to plant your mental garden, and as you know, after we have planted a garden we must cultivate it. We must keep it free from weeds. In the garden of the mind this means that having planted the right thoughts, we must carefully nurture them and see that they do not become uprooted by doubt and fear. And this is what we are going to discuss today, how to cultivate your mental garden so it will produce health, happiness, and success.
