Born to Live on the Edge: Experiences from living on a farm to flying combat sorties in Vietnam to r
"Fredrick L. Pumroy never knew what his father or grandfather’s life experiences were except for stories some of there friends told as they avoided talking to their kinfolk about their old day happenings. He had several unique experiences which were tied to historical events. He also was a dedicated husband who loved his family but was still dedicated to serving his country even though it meant being away from them for long durations. He also wanted to show how a Christian can go through life in cycles of doing things not so Christian to doing things that serve others in need. So he decided to write down an account of his life long experiences from birth to retirement. It was initially written to provide a historical document for his descendents, so they will know the trials and tribulations their father and grandfather went through. It is an attempt to capture his real life experiences and describe how those experiences impacted the life of those associated with him. His final reason for writing this book is to give an example of how a person growing up under poor economic conditions could be successful in life and tries to answer the question: why do people do dangerous things even though it may cost them their lives. He also wanted to provide his extended family and all the other people living through similar experiences the incentive to trust in God and follow the philosophy that 'You can do whatever you put your mind to, if it is God's Will.'"

"Talk Show - Inmates Voting was written to raise support for the constitutional right to vote for nonviolent offenders. It is a short story on paperback or audio-tape which asked the question, why in America there are only two states that allow inmates to vote. Those states or Vermont and Maine! 'Talk Show' Inmates Voting is based on the life of author/educator Charlton Sharpe. It's a fascinating story with a bold message: but one more than achievable if enough citizens can back the campaign to afford nonviolent offenders their constitutional right to vote."

In the Shadow of Green Bamboos
"Remarkable Tales of Love and Hope, Resilience and Survival, from the Vietnam War: In the Shadow of Green Bamboos is a series of snapshots in the lives of a cross-section of people, Vietnamese and American, whose worlds were torn asunder by the Vietnam War: A fortuitous encounter at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial; a father-and-son outing that echoes a childhood trauma; a harrowing haunting finally laid to rest; two young brothers at their innocent play; the recovery of a lost family keepsake; Grandma sharing a fairy tale with her granddaughter. These captured moments, ordinary though they may seem, reveal the blessings of love and hope in the course of everyday life. The stories they tell also stand as testaments to the resilience and courage of survivors struggling to rebuild from the ashes of war."

"Considered one of the greatest American novels ever written, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald that follows a cast of characters living in the fictional towns of West Egg and East Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. The story of the book primarily concerns the young and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and his quixotic passion and obsession to reunite with his ex-lover, the beautiful former debutante Daisy Buchanan. Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway sees through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await. Fitzgerald's magnum opus, The Great Gatsby explores themes of decadence, idealism, resistance to change, social upheaval and excess, creating a portrait of the Roaring Twenties that has been described as a cautionary tale regarding the American Dream."
