The first in what will become the quintessential list of the best of live British comedy, AN AUDIENCE WITH BARRY CRYER brings you up close and personal with one of bastions of British comedy in this live recording of his sellout comedy tour. Available for the first time as a downloadable audio file. The AN AUDIENCE WITH... series will bring you a succession of live performances by some of Britain's best-loved comedians, opening with Barry Cryer, one of the stalwarts of Radio 4. The quintessential grumpy old man, Barry Cryer's standup combines the quick wit of Radio 4 with the charm and class of the 'Great Men of Comedy'. He has been a regular panelist on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue and Just a Minute, the latter of which he also chaired. In 1998, Barry wrote his autobiography, You Won't Believe This But..., which has been broadcast on Radio 4. Barry is also famous for having written gags for some of the legends of British comedy, including Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Stanley Baxter, Dick Emery, Dave Allen, Les Dawson, Bob Hope, Kenny Everett, Sir Harry Secombe, Billy Connolly, Jasper Carrot and Richard Pryor. With a CV that reads like the 'Who's Who of British Comedy Greats', Cryer's unique blend of old-school gentility and cutting edge intellect facilitates an audience-base that spans generations.

Im Sorry I Havent A Clue: Hamish And Dougal Series 2
Hamish and Dougal - two of the most popular characters from I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue - return in their second radio series, alongside Mrs Naughtie (Alison Steadman), and the local Laird (Jeremy Hardy). In The Vampire of the Glen, our heroes are suspicious after the Laird asks them to dig a hole in his allotment large enough for a coffin-shaped wardrobe, while in Fame Idol, Hamish and Dougal are anxious to enter 'Fay McAdemy', the famous Highland talent contest. A contest of a different kind is on the agenda in The Fitness Club, when the Laird challenges Dougal to a MacAthlon, an endurance test which involves swimming Loch Crankie, cycling to the bottom of Ben Kingsley, then running the length of Glen Close. The daffy duo try to discover the identity of the author of a series of unsettling anonymous letters in The Poison Pen Letters, and accidentally manage to hook the Loch Jaw Monster while out fishing in The Monster in the Loch. And to round off proceedings, they find themselves stuck between floors in a trip to a well-known London department store in Trapped! So curl up and have a cuppa with Hamish and Dougal - you'd be two teabags short of a full pot to miss out! Barry Cryer and Graeme Garden's skittish Scots are back with a second helping of crazy comedy in these six shows.

England 1558-1603. The filthy genes of the Blackadder dynasty bubble to the surface of history's melting pot as Lord Edmund, arrogant peer-about-town, swaggers with a big head and small beard in search of grace and favour from the stark raving mad Queen Bess. Listen as Lord Blackadder falls in love with a girl named Bob, takes over the job of executioner whilst almost losing his own head, schemes to raise £1,000 to pay off a perverted Bishop, goes on a far-off sea voyage to the remote country of France, and plays charades with a member of the Spanish Inquisition. Rowan Atkinson stars as Blackadder in Richard Curtis' and Ben Elton's award-winning comedy in which, ably hampered by Tony Robinson as the loyal Baldrick, he wreaks havoc throughout the centuries. This collection includes the following episodes: 'Bells', 'Head', 'Potato', 'Money', 'Beer' and 'Chains'.

Through the ages, men of flair, faculty and outstanding courage have contributed to their country's heritage. Others, like the snivelling worm Edmund, Duke of Edinburgh (alias 'The Black Adder'), have emerged from the dust of dodgy documents to claim their wrongful place in history... This historic first series introduced us to Rowan Atkinson's first incarnation as Black Adder - the incompetent, bitter and twisted son of Richard, Duke of York, who, with the help of his trusty (and equally stinky) aide, Baldrick (Tony Robinson), and Percy (Tim McInnerny) begins his slithering journey through the ages, scheming for an easier life, a better position and perhaps even a shot at the throne itself. The original series also stars Brian Blessed as Richard IV, Peter Cook as Richard III, Miriam Margolyes as the Infanta Maria of Spain and Rik Mayall as Mad Gerald. Episodes include: 'The Foretelling', 'The Queen of Spain's Beard', 'Born to Be King', 'Witchsmeller Pursuivant', 'Archbishop' and 'The Black Seal'.

How lovely it is to once again vada the dolly old eek of Round the Horne, the radio comedy series which ventured where few had gone before in the late 1960s. For four series, suave and unruffled host Kenneth Horne battled manfully with a marauding parade of characters, from enterprising chorus boys Julian and Sandy to warbling songsmith Rambling Syd Rumpo, booming Daphne Whitethigh and breathless thespians Charles and Fiona. In this collection, Kenneth Horne has a lost of bother with The Nuclear Banana, Seamus Android interviews Zsa Zsa Poltergeist and the Gaylords turn up in 'Kenneth Horne's Theatre of Suspense'. Also, Rambling Syd performs the Cornish Scrumpy Dance, Julian and Sandy unveil Bona Beat Songs Ltd and the cast say Goodbye (until next time...) Includes these four episodes: Series Two, Episode 5 (10 April 1966); Series Two, Episode 11 (22 May 1966); Series Three, Episode Twelve (30 April 1967) and Series Three, Episode 20 (25 June 1967).

The Navy Lark Volume 17: Taking Some Liberties
The Navy Lark, one of radio's longest-running laughter-makers, kept the nation on the crest of a wave from 1959 to 1977. All at sea in the Senior Service were conniving Chief Petty Officer Jon Pertwee, silly-ass Sub-Lieutenant Leslie Phillips, and the constantly bemused Stephen Murray as 'Number One'. Tenniel Evans was making mischief as Leading Seaman Taffy Goldstein. Jump on deck and join them once more in this special collection featuring Ronnie Barker as Engineer Queeg, a man always out of his depth. In these classic capers, Leslie buys a bicycle, Troutbridge sails to France carrying the Prime Minister's advisor, Goldstein schemes to get the CPO's job, and the ship suffers a mysterious mechanical breakdown when Pertwee decides its next mission is doomed. The episodes are: 'Taking Some Liberties' (11 July 1965); 'The PM Papa' (13 November 1966); 'Getting Rid of Pertwee' (20 November 1966) and 'Off to Sea at Last' (27 November 1966).

Just A Classic Minute Volume 2
Just as uproariously funny - and terrifically popular - today as when it first began on BBC Radio 4 in 1967, Just a Minute challenges contestants to speak for one minute on a given subject without repetition, hesitation or deviation. Its mix of irreverent fun and ferocious competition has always attracted stellar names from the world of comedy and theatre, all of whom pit their wits and their wit against regular players including Kenneth Williams, Paul Merton, Derek Nimmo, Clement Freud and Peter Jones. Among the guests in these four archive programmes are Maureen Lipman, Geraldine Jones, Sheila Hancock, Alfred Marks, John Junkin and Tim Rice. Nicholas Parsons, who has been at the helm of the series since it began, as chairman and occasionally as player, introduces this sparkling quartet of editions and provides fascinating background information on the game, as well as memories of its players and its devisor, Ian Messiter. The original transmission dates of these episodes are 21st October 1968, 3rd November 1976, 28th August 1982 and 17th March 1990.
