The Book of Enoch is an ancient Jewish apocalyptic religious text (300 - 200 BC), ascribed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Enoch explains the origins of demons and giants; why some angels fell from heaven; why the Great Flood was morally necessary; and it also gives a prophetic exposition of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah. Various Aramaic fragments have been found of the text in the Dead Sea Scrolls. There are also Koine Greek and Latin fragments which prove that The Book of Enoch was known to early Jews and Christians. The book of Enoch was also quoted by some 1st and 2nd century authors such as the author of the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs. It also appears that the New Testament authors were also familiar with some content of the story. A short section of Enoch is cited in the New Testament in the Epistle of Jude (1:14–15). Although this book is not part of the biblical canon used by Jews, with the exception of Ethiopian Jews. Most Christian denominations and traditions accept the Book of Enoch as having some historical or theological interest. Only the Ethiopian/Eritrean Orthodox Church numbers the book among their Old Testament scriptures. Enoch is wholly extant only in the Ethiopian Ge'ez language from which this rendition is translated.

The Book of Enoch: Apocryphal Book Of Giants Fallen Angels, Watchers And Nephilim
Enoch existed prior to the events surrounding the Great Flood and was son of Jared, father of the famously long-lived Methuselah and grandfather of Noah. The Book of Enoch is considered a canonical Apocrypha and is said to have been written by Enoch himself, although this is disputed by some and many believe it was begun in the second century BC. The only thing that is known for certain is that fragments of the book date back to the 2nd century BC and that it was rediscovered as part of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The Book of Enoch: Apocryphal Book of Giants Fallen Angels, Watchers & Nephilim examines the writings of Enoch and the unique material on the origins of demons and Nephilim that he wrote about. It studies why some angels fell from heaven, why the Genesis flood was morally necessary and looks deeply into the prophetic exposition of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah. Perfect for students of biblical times but also written for general readership and those who have a passing interest in the book’s history and place within Christian thinking, The Book of Enoch makes complex texts more generally accessible to the average reader.

Now available in audio, the bestselling edition of the most important non-canonical apocalyptic text. This superlative translation by noted scholar and theologian R. H. Charles is one of the best and most complete available. The introduction by esoteric bookseller and antiquarian bookseller R. A. Gilbert helps place The Book of Enoch in historical context and dispels many of the dubious interpretations previously attributed to it. The Book of Enoch's vision of the Apocalypse takes a very different view than that of western Christians, although it is part of the biblical canon for Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians. According to Enoch, the wicked shall be cast out and the good will realize a literal heaven on Earth. The prophecies also contain the lost 'Book of Noah,' early references to a messiah as 'Christ,' and an accounting of the angels and subsequent creation of demons.
