Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (also known as Alice Through the Looking-Glass or simply Through the Looking-Glass) is an 1871 novel by Lewis Carroll and the sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865). Alice again enters a fantastical world, this time by climbing through a mirror into the world that she can see beyond it. There she finds that, just like a reflection, everything is reversed, including logic (e.g. running helps you remain stationary, walking away from something brings you towards it, chessmen are alive, nursery rhyme characters exist, etc.).
Through the Looking-Glass includes such verses as 'Jabberwocky' and 'The Walrus and the Carpenter', and the episode involving Tweedledum and Tweedledee. The mirror which inspired Carroll remains displayed in Charlton Kings, Gloucestershire.
It was the first of the 'Alice' stories to gain widespread popularity, and prompted a newfound appreciation for its predecessor when it was published.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson penned under the pseudonym of Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a little girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. Many feel it is perhaps the very first psychedelic novel. One can certainly draw parallels with the eating of magic mushrooms and apparently hallucinating, yet still it is chiefly a beloved children's story. Loved keenly for generations here is an audiobook which is sure to entertain, educate, and delight people of all ages.

Nos vamos a encontrar paseando por un jardín en el que las flores nos hablan y también nos insultan y luego nos cruzaremos con personajes entrañables: Humpty Dumpty, un enorme huevo sentado siempre en lo alto de un muro, los gemelos Tweedledee y Tweedledum especialistas en contar cuentos. Es ist wirklich ein Wunderland, in das Alice nach ihrem Sturz in den Kaninchenbau gerät. Eine Wunderwelt dargestellt von dem mächtigen Orchesterklang der NDR Radiophilharmonie. Zunächst spaziert Alice unbekümmert durch diese bunte Welt, doch drohen ihr im weiteren Verlauf ihres Abenteuers üble Gefahren. Fast ertrinkt Alice in ihren eigenen Tränen und riesige Klangwellen scheinen sie im Tränenmeer zu überrollen. Die Herzkönigin will unbedingt ihre Macht durchsetzen und pocht mit Pauken und Trompeten auf ihr Recht, jedem den Kopf abschlagen zu dürfen. Auf der verrückten Teeparty kann man ein 'Nichtgeburtstagsständchen' hören. Sehr seltsam! Doch vielleicht ist ja alles nur ein Traum und löst sich hinterher in Wohlklang auf?!'

Todo empezó cuando, de repente vio aparecer a un conejo blanco, que se quedo parado de pie y tras mirar su reloj de bolsillo salió corriendo a toda velocidad. Cuando finalmente consiguió tener el tamaño adecuado para salir a un bonito jardín, empezó encontrarse con toda clase de personajes: el ratón nadador, un dodo y muchos otros pájaros y animales con los que hizo una divertida carrera para secarse. Alicia sigue conociendo toda clase de personajes: la oruga que fumaba en pipa, la liebre de marzo y el sombrerero que tomaban el té, el gato de Cheshire con su sonrisa de oreja a oreja y finalmente es invitada a jugar una loca partida de croquet con la reina de corazones, que está empeñada en cortarle la cabeza a todo el mundo.

`The Hunting of the Snark‘ (1876) is a nonsense poem by `Alice Adventures in Wonderland‘ author Lewis Carroll. It describes the disastrous hunting mission by a bizarre group of characters, among these a butcher who can only kill beavers and a guy who forgot his own name. Gloriously nonsensical, this poem is bound to appeal to all fans of Alice.
Once again, Alice finds herself in a peculiar place. In this sequel to `Alice Adventures in Wonderland‘, Alice has climbed through a mirror and arrived in a world in which everything is reversed, like a reflection – including logic. It makes for another absurdly funny story full of wonder and snark that, like the first book, never talks down to its young audience. The popular Tim Burton movie, `Alice in Wonderland‘ (2010), starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway, to name is few, is loosely based on both this and the previous novel. In some ways, `Through the Looking-glass and What Alice Found There‘ (1871) has had an even bigger impact on today‘s popular culture than the first book.
