Thirty years of happiness rocked by a text message! The family gather in Tuscany, which is beautifully described, the secret is revealed, tragedy strikes and everything falls apart. It is so refreshing to have an author who writes sensitively and astutely for the older woman. The family dynamics are beautifully handled and as secrets tumble out so we care more. It is slow to start but stay with it, it’s such a lovely read.
In addition to our Lovereading expert opinion for The Secrets Women Keep a small number of Lovereading members were lucky enough to be invited to review this title - 'The Secrets Women Keep was a breath of fresh air, something lovely to read on a Summer's day or a beach-read...a five-star read and I absolutely adored it.' - Rebecca Jayne Barrett. The Secrets Women Keep Synopsis
Rose waits for her family to arrive at their villa in Tuscany when a casual glance at her husband's phone tips her world upside down. The text reads simply: 'Miss you. Love you. Come back soon.' Daniel has always been popular with women, she knows that. But until this moment she has had no cause for worry. Has something shifted within their marriage without her realising? As the family gathers for the summer break, Rose's faith in Daniel is shaken. How well does she really know him? She fears that, after decades of marriage and children, the man who lies beside her at night is lying in other ways too. Then events take a tragic turn.
