LoveReading Says
Magnificently descriptive and eloquent, Dreams and Dust continues to bring to life a realm and characters so real, you feel you can reach out and touch them. Martins ability to compose a substantial and tangible world is absolute.
The beginning of Dreams and Dust takes you back, to just after A Storm of Swords and runs concurrently alongside A Feast for Crows. A period of relative peace dawns, allowing the dragons and other characters time to grow and collations to form and be rent asunder.
In a time to forge alliances, it is essential that every thought and move is considered. The hidden is slowly revealed, yet another claimant enters the fray and predatory courtship prowls to the forefront alongside ambition.
A Dance with Dragons has been split into two, as soon as you have finished Dreams and Dust you will want to race straight into After the Feast. There are apparently two more books to come in the A Song of Ice and Fire series and you can't help but feel that we are currently experiencing an unnatural calm before the thunderous storm.

A Dance With Dragons: Part 1 Dreams and Dust Synopsis
HBO's hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R R Martin's internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. A DANCE WITH DRAGONS: DREAMS AND DUST is the FIRST part of the fifth volume in the series.
In the aftermath of a colossal battle, new threats are emerging from every direction. Tyrion Lannister, having killed his father, and wrongfully accused of killing his nephew, King Joffrey, has escaped from King's Landing with a price on his head.
To the north lies the great Wall of ice and stone - a structure only as strong as those guarding it. Eddard Stark's bastard son Jon Snow has been elected 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. But Jon has enemies both inside and beyond the Wall.
And in the east Daenerys Targaryen struggles to hold a city built on dreams and dust.
