Lizzie Lane is the author of over 60 books, including the bestselling Tobacco Girls, Coronation Close and Orchard Cottage Hospital series which is set in the thirties and features a female doctor and a family planning clinic. She was born and bred in Bristol where many of her family worked in the cigarette and cigar factories, has a yachtmaster licence (lived on a sailing yacht for five years) and is a talented interior designer and frequenter of charity shops. Her home is furnished with everything secondhand.
