Feel-good waltzes into Christmas with this engaging and heartfelt relationship story set in Ireland. As Liv leaves her shift at the hospital she is first on the scene at an accident, the split-second choice she makes spirals into potential outcomes. While romance features, this story is very much about Liv and her friends and family, and most importantly how decisions can flicker or flame into our lives. The different strands of the story create intrigue and interest, ensuring this festive tale feels just that little bit different. Author Faith Hogan creates a realistic and authentic feel even while setting a ‘Sliding Doors’ moment loose into the story. The long running echoes that grief can cause feature with empathy and compassion. I particularly enjoyed getting to know Liv, and I really cared about what was going to happen to her. I headed towards the ending with anticipation and smiled as I settled into the final pages. Captivating and stimulating, On the First Day of Christmas is a truly uplifting tale full of warmth and love.
