Peter I. De Costa is Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Languages and the Department of Teacher Education at Michigan State University. His primary areas of research are identity and ideology in second language acquisition. He is the author of The Power of Identity and Ideology in Language Learning (2016), and editor of Ethics in Applied Linguistics Research (2016). He is the co- editor of TESOL Quarterly. Dustin Crowther is an assistant professor of second language studies at University of Hawai’i at Manoa and holds a PhD in second language studies from Michigan State University. His research interests include second language pronunciation, the promotion of mutual intelligibility in multilinguistic and multicultural contact, World Englishes, and research methodologies.
