Jacqueline Murray is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Guelph. She is an internationally recognized pioneer in medieval social history and a leader in medieval gender and sexuality studies. She earned her BA from the University of British Columbia and MA and PhD from the University of Toronto. Her 30 scholarly articles and 17 collections of essays about sexuality, gender, and particularly medieval masculinity have transformed our understanding of the past and opened new research areas. She is a frequent contributor to the popular media, demonstrating the relevance of medieval roots to contemporary questions about sex and gender.
